Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt is a popular Bollywood actress. Born on 15 March 1993, in Mumbai, the 25-year-old is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. Alia Bhatt studied at the famous Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. She first appeared on-screen as a child artiste in the movie Sangharsh in 1999, starring Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar. Alia Bhatt made her leading Bollywood debut in the movie Student of the Year (SOTY) alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. The movie was made by her mentor Karan Johar. After playing a glamorous character in SOTY, Alia Bhatt did an intense role in Imtiaz Ali's movie, Highway. She bagged the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress and a Best Actress nomination for the same. She has since been seen in movies like 2 States, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Udta Punjab, Kapoor & Sons, Shandaar, Dear Zindagi, Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Raazi. Alia Bhatt has been appreciated in all her roles so far.

Alia Bhatt is also a singer and has sung for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Udta Punjab. She has also launched her own line of clothing for women. Alia Bhatt recently moved out of her parents' home to stay in a flat with her sister Shaheen Bhatt. On her decision to move out, father Mahesh Bhatt said, "I have always admired her ability to walk on her own two feet. Alia is a self-made individual and there is nothing more gratifying for parents than to see their child grow on her own. She has the right to be different, and we must value that. For me, my home is where Alia is."

Women Awards: Contribution to cinema.In addition to acting in films, Alia has given outstanding performances in the Filmfare Award, Screen Award and Stardust Award ceremonies. Alia has also participated in a stage show in Hong Kong with Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra. In the year 2013, Alia performed at a charity event with Suddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Huma Qureshi and Shraddha Kapoor to raise funds for the flood-affected victims of Uttarakhand.

In order to raise awareness about the homeless animals, Alia became a part of the campaign PETA. She sung a song "Sooha Saaha" in the 2014 filmed movie, Highway. Alia Bhatt was invited by the film composer of the movie A. R. Rahman, to his music school to get training. In the year 2014, Alia Bhatt sang "Main Tenu Samjhawan", for the composers Sharib-Toshi, in the blockbuster Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. In association with the online fashion portal Jabong, Alia Bhatt launched her own line of clothing for women. Her collection was named "very simple" and "very me. Classy, modern, born with a silver spoon, Alia Bhatt loves to flaunt her clothes and bags. Alia Bhatt endorses various brands and products, including Garnier, Coca-Cola, and Maybelline.

In the year 2016, Alia Bhatt sang an alternate version of the song "Ikk Kudi" with her co-star Diljit Dosanjh for the movie Udta Punjab. In the year 2016, Alia Bhatt played the role of a young girl in the drama Kapoor & Sons. Kapoor & Sons was a movie about a dysfunctional family starring Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra. The movie proved to be a commercial as well as critical success. Alia Bhatt played a role of a poverty stricken migrant who hails from Bihar in the Indian state of Punjab. The movie is a crime drama directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The powerful role marked an important departure from the mostly jocular parts she had earlier played, and in groundwork, she watched documentaries on drug abuse and also learned Bihari dialect. 

The movie, co-starring Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Shahid Kapoor, generated argument when the Central Board of Film Certification believed that the film represented Punjab in an unconstructive light and demanded broad censorship before its release. The Bombay High Court shortly cleared the film for showing with one scene cut. The performance of Alia Bhatt in the movie was significantly commended, with a number of commentators believing that it was one of her amazing performances to that point.

Among her forthcoming films, Alia Bhatt has committed to star with Ranbir Kapoor in a fantasy film about a man with superpowers. The film is tentatively titled Dragon.
