Amy Jackson

Amy Jackson is a British actress who is known more for her work in the Indian film industry, where she made her debut with Tamil movie Madrasapattinam in 2010. She made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with movie Ekk Deewana Tha, starring in the lead role opposite actor Prateik Babbar. The movie, however, failed to do well at the box office.

In 2012 she acted in yet another Tamil movie, Thaandavam, for which she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress - Tamil. In 2014 she starred in Telegu movie Yevadu alongside Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Shruti Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal, and the movie became one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of that year.

The following year, Amy starred in three movies, one Hindi and two Tamil films. The Hindi movie, Singh Is Bliing, which also starred Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Kay Kay Menon, got mixed reviews upon its release, but it performed pretty well at the box office. From the Tamil movies, 'I' earned Amy some awards and a nomination, while movie Thanga Magan, also starring Dhanush and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, got mixed reviews but did decently at the box office.

The year 2016 saw Amy star in a slew of movies, namely, Gethu, Theri, Devi (all three Tamil movies), Freaky Ali and Tutak Tutak Tukiya (both Hindi movies), and she made a special appearance in the song Chal Maar in Telegu movie Abhinetri.

In 2017, she starred in English movie Boogie Man, which is an independent UK film, and in 2018 she was seen in Kannada movie The Villain, which was followed by Tamil movie 2.0. Amy starred alongside Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in movie 2.0, and it did very well at the box office. During the period of 2017-2018, Amy also played the role of Imra Ardeen/Saturn Girl in the third season of Supergirl of The CW's superhero series.

Personal Life:

Amy Jackson was born on January 31, 1992 in Douglas on the Isle of Man to Marguerita and Alan Jackson, an English couple from Liverpool. Her elder sister Alicia is also an actress. Amy completed her studies from St Edward's College, where she earned A-Levels in English literature, ethics, and philosophy.

In January 2019, Amy revealed that she was dating hotelier George Panayiotou, the son of British-Cypriot businessman Andreas Panayiotou. After announcing in March 2019 that she was pregnant, she and George became engaged on May 6, 2019.

Before Films:

After she won the Miss Teen Great Britain and Miss Teen Liverpool pageants, Amy went on to win the Miss Teen World title in 2009 which landed her a modelling contract in the US. She started her modelling career with Boss Model Management and then worked for London agency Models 1. Amy also won the Miss Liverpool title in 2010, and in the same year, she competed for the Miss England title and was crowned runner-up to Jessica Linley.

Interests and Hobbies:

Amy, who lives in London, has been featured in a number of magazines and is the face of various brands and charities. Apart from her work with PETA, she also supports charities such as the Girl Child education program in India and St. Jude's Hospital in Mumbai. In 2017, it was revealed that Amy and her mother Marguerita were opening a restaurant in London.
