Ankita Lokhande

Ankita Lokhande, who was born as Tanuja Lokhande, is an Indian film and television actress, who is well known for her role as Archana Deshmukh in Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta. The romantic-drama television series, which aired from 2009 to 2014, was her first on-screen appearance, and she starred alongside Sushant Singh Rajput.

In 2011, Ankita took part in season 4 of reality television dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa which aired on Colors TV, partnering up with Sushant. She had also partnered up with Kapil Sharma for Sony Entertainment Television's Comedy Circus in 2010.

TELEVISION:

Ankita starred in Ek Thhi Naayka, a horror-thriller mini-series which premiered on March 9, 2013 on Life OK. In 2018, she made a guest appearance as a dancer on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi in television series Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki which aired on Colors TV. Her latest appearance was on Bigg Boss 13 in 2019 when she was a guest in the house to support Rashami Desai, who is a contestant.

FILM:

Ankita had received a number of offers for movie roles, however, she did not accept any. It was only in 2019 that she agreed to a role in movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which had starred Kangana Ranaut as the lead. In the movie, Ankita had a supporting role and played Jhalkaribai, a woman soldier who served in the women's army of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi and who also played an important role in the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

Apart from the one movie she starred in, Ankita is also believed to have signed up to play Shraddha Kapoor's sister in Baaghi 3, which is set to be released in the year 2020. The movie is being directed by Ahmed Khan, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and distributed by Fox Star Studios.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Ankita Lokhande was born on December 19, 1984 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh to Shashikant Lokhande and Vandana Pandis Lokhande. Her father is a banker and her mother a teacher, and she has two siblings, a brother and a sister. After completing her education in 2005, she moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. She was romantically linked to Sushant Singh Rajput and is said to have been in a relationship with him for 6 years before splitting in 2016.
