Anushka Shetty

Sweety Shetty or Anushka Shetty as she is known on stage is an Indian actress and model who works in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. She made her acting debut in 2005 in Telegu movie Super alongside actors Nagarjuna Akkineni, Ayesha Takia, and Sonu Sood, and she was nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress – Telugu.

In the same year that she made her debut, Anushka also starred in Mahanandi alongside actors Sumanth and Srihari. The movie was a moderate success at the box office. In 2006, she featured in four movies, Vikramarkudu, Astram, Rendu, and made a special appearance in the song I Wanna Spider Man in movie Stalin.

From 2007 till 2018, she starred in around 37 movies and most were a commercial success. In 2009, she won a number of awards for her role in Telegu dark fantasy horror movie Arundhati, which was also a huge commercial success. The same year she also won an award for her role in Tamil movie Vettaikaaran. The following year, she again won many awards for her role in Telegu movie Vedam.

The next award she won was in 2011 for Tamil movie Deiva Thirumagal, in 2012 for Dhamarukam, in 2015 for Rudhramadevi, in 2016 for Size Zero, in 2017 for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and the DadaSahed Phalke Awards South 2019 for Bhaagamathie. She won the most awards for Telegu movie Rudhramadevi, which was based on the life of Rudrama Devi, one of the prominent rulers of the Kakatiya dynasty in the Deccan, and one of the few ruling queens in Indian history.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Anushka Shetty was born on November 7, 1981 in Puttur, Mangaluru, Karnataka and she is an ethnic Tuluva hailing from the landed Bellipady Uramalu Guthu family. Her parents are Prafulla and AN Vittal Shetty, and she has two brothers Gunaranjan Shetty and Sai Ramesh Shetty. She did her schooling in Bangalore and Bachelor in Computer Applications at the Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.

UPCOMING MOVIES:

Anushka will next be seen in 2019 Telegu movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, in a cameo appearance, and in 2020, she will be seen in Nishabdham, an international Hollywood crossover thriller that will also star Madhavan, Michael Madsen, Anjali, Subbaraju, Shalini Pandey, and Srinivas Avasarala. The movie will be in Telegu, Tamil and English.
