The official data states that more than 8.66 crore subscribers of the scheme have enrolled. The data is of the date January 19, 2026. This shows that people are getting aware regarding such schemes and how they're trusting the system.

The government, in its wisdom, has decided to bar the entry of income taxpayers into the Atal Pension Yojana scheme. If a subscriber to the APY scheme, who joined on or after Oct 1, 2022, is subsequently found to have been an income-tax payer on or before the date of application, the APY account shall be closed and the accumulated pension wealth till date would be given to the subscriber.
