German luxury carmaker Audi today inaugurated its first Technical and Service Centre for Indian market in the financial capital Mumbai. German luxury carmaker Audi is planning to add around 10 new customer touch-points in India to complement the proposed 10 new launches that are expected to happen this year. By taking such steps, Audi hopes that it will help the company maintain its pole position in the country. Commenting on the same, Audi India head Joe King said, "We will be increasing our customer touch-points by 15 percent from our current 61 networks spanning 35 cities through a combination of showrooms and service facilities.”

German car maker Audi plans around 10 new launches in India this year, besides making its operations there benefit from the planned 24 billion euro global investments by 2019 to maintain its leadership status in the luxury segment. "The Indian market is developing well. We are leader in the luxury segment and would like to defend this position," Member of the Board of Management of Audi AG Luca de Meo told reporters here. Audi India posted a 26 per cent increase in sales in February this year over the same period last year which is a good signal, he added.
