Will Rapido be banned in Karnataka?

Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy spoke about banning Rapido-two wheeler taxis in the state and said those who are operating without getting permission would be banned.

Three years ago Bajaj Auto, India’s second largest two-wheeler manufacturer developed country’s first safe and comfortable quadricycle, Bajaj RE60. But the company is yet to launch the vehicle as the government has not yet to come out with a policy for the segment. When asked about it at an AIMA conference, Bajaj Auto Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj said, "Even after three years of developing the product and investing in it... I am still waiting for policy clearance to introduce this safe, comfortable quadricycle."

Country’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto yesterday launched the much anticipated Pulsar Adventure series, AS 200 and AS 150, in India. Post launch the company also announced its plans to extend its global reach to 25 new export markets. Commenting on the same, Bajaj Auto Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj said he would opt for the growth model of cult bike maker Harley Davidson rather than loss-making General Motors' when it comes to capturing a higher market share in the global motorcycle market. "For the last 30-40 years, the world's largest car maker General Motors makes smart cars, expensive cars, cheap cars and sports utility vehicles. Only thing that GM does not make is money," Bajaj told reporters.

Bajaj Auto is looking to export its motorcycles and three-wheelers to over 25 new markets as the company plans to scale up overseas shipments during the current financial year. Besides, the company, which today expanded its Pulsar range of bikes with the launch of AS 150 and AS 200 models, also plans to launch the Pulsar 400 during this fiscal. "For motorcycles this year we are looking at 14 new markets and for three wheelers about 12-13 markets all over the world. Between our motorcycles and three wheelers about 25 markets that we have chance of entering this financial year," Bajaj Auto Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj told reporters.
