Ayushmann Khurrana is an Indian film actor and singer and also has been a television anchor, winner of MTV Roadies as well as a Radio Jockey. He made his film debut in the year 2012 featuring in Shoojit Sircars romantic comedy Vicky Donor. He is very popular among the youth audience and as of September 2016 he has been featured in five films.Ayushmann was born on 14th September 1984 in Chandigarh, Punjab to P. Khurrana and Poonam Khurrana. His father is an astrologer and an author of astrology and his mom is a housewife. Ayushmann also has a brother Aparshakti, who is a radio Jockey at Oye 104.8 FM in Delhi and is going to make debut in Aamir Khan starring film Dangal. Ayushmann completed his schooling from St. Johns High School and then went to DAV College in Chandigarh. He also holds a major in English Literature and he completed his masters degree in Mass Communication from School of Communication Studies, Punjab University. Ayushmann was one of the founder members of the DAV Colleges active theatre group called Aaghaaz and Manchtantra and he also did serious theatre for five years. At an age of 17, Ayushmann was a part of the reality show Pop Stars on Channel V in 2002. He then became a contestant of Roadies 2 which took place in 2004 and became the winner of the show at the age of 20. He then completed his Graduation and Post Graduation in Journalism and became a radio jockey at Big FM, Delhi and hosted the show called Big Chai- Maan Na Maan, Main Tera Ayushmann. After a successful career of radio jockey, Ayushmann moved towards television and became a video jockey on MTV. He worked in many MTV shows and also worked in MTV Fully Faltoo Movies. Later he started to anchor in various reality television shows and co-anchored Indias Got Talent with Nikhil Chinapa. Later he also hosted Music Ka Maha Muqqabla and later Extra Innings T20 for Indian Premier League Season 3. In 2012, with John Abrahams debut as a producer, Ayushmann shot to stardom and starred in his film Vicky Donor and played the role of Vicky Arora who marries a Bengali girl without telling her about his past of being a sperm donor. The movie was a small budget movie but it became a major commercial success. His effortless act in his debut as well as his song Paani da which was sung as well as composed by Ayushmann himself received rave reviews and the film became one of the biggest hits of the year. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut and Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. Despite his successful debut in Bollywood, Ayushmann did not leave television shows and anchored the IIFA Awards 2012, Peoples Choice Awards India 2012 and Screen Awards 2013. He was next seen in Rohan Sippys Nautanki Saala with co-stars Pooja Salvi, Kunal Roy and Evelyn Sharma. Ayushmann received positive reviews for his role but the film was a moderate success at the box office. In 2014, Ayushmann worked with the Yash Raj Films banner and became the lead in the movie Bewakoofiyaan with co-stars Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. He once again became the playback singer and sung the song Khamkhaan with Neeti Mohan. The movie did not do well at the box office. Later he played the role of a scientist in a movie titled Hawaizaada but the movie failed at the box office. In 2015, Ayushmann made a comeback in Sharat Katariyas Dum Laga Ke Haisha and his role received positive reviews from the critics. The movie had a major box office success and he was nominated in the critics for the Stardust Awards. Ayushmaan will be seen in Sameer Sharmas Manmarziyan in which he is placed opposite Bhumi Pednekar, marking this his second movie with Bhumi after Dum Laga Ke Haisha. He is also starring in Akshay Roys romance drama Meri Pyari Bindu opposite Parineeti Chopra.Ayushmann is married to his childhood friend Tahira and the couple has a son Virajveer and a daughter Varushka.
