Maruti Suzuki India today launched the new Ciaz smart diesel hybrid in India priced at INR 8.23 – 10.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Touted to be the country’s first smart hybrid, the new Ciaz in backed by company’s Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) and returns a striking fuel efficiency of 28.09 kmpl. As for competition though the Ciaz SHVS doesn’t have a direct contender, it is still accompanied in the Indian market by other hybrid/electric vehicles from Mahindra Reva to BMW i8.

BMW Group has recently displayed its engine-building prowess by bagging four wins at the 2015 International Engine of the Year Award. The cars whose engines helped BMW achieve this glorious feat were – BMW’s hybrid marvel i8, the M3 and the M4. While i8 hybrid supercar grabbed 2 class wins along with being declared as an overall winner, both the engine of the BMW M3 and BMW M4 were also awarded a class win.

German luxury carmaker BMW today celebrated the World Environment Day in India with absolute style. The carmaker the most stylish progressive hybrid sportscar was seen prying on the streets of Delhi with the ‘FAME India Eco Drive 2015.’ The BMW i8 was one of the highlight among 46 hybrid and electric vehicles that were present at the rally and also among the 14 vehicles that were displayed at ‘FAME India Eco Drive 2015’ later.

BMW India today launched its hybrid Supercar BMW i8 at the premium price of INR 2.29 crore. The car is the first i-series to be launched in India and marks the entry of into the uber-niche market of hybrid supercars in our country. The BMW i8 has entered the Indian market via CBU (completely built unit) route and will be sold in very limited numbers, mainly because of its increasing global demand, which evidently BMW is not able to fully meet.

BMW India is all set to launch its Hybrid supercar BMW i8 in India. The launch which is slated for tomorrow will see the first i-series car to enter the Indian market. The BMW i8 will reach the Indian shores as CBUs (Completely Built Unit) and hence will come at a relatively premium cost. The German automaker is yet to announce the price for the India bound model, but we speculate it to be in the range of INR 1.5 – 2.0 crore.
