Rajendra Sadashev Nikalje, alias Chhota Rajan is an established name in the underworld known for heading major crime syndicates in Mumbai. Born to a humble family in the city, he became a victim of poverty. A dropout from school, Rajan began trading cinema tickets in black in his early 20s. Soon, he made his nascent steps in dark circles of Mumbai, by joining the gang of renowned extortionist Rajan Nair (Bada Rajan). Following the death of Bada Rajan, he assumed his throne. It was in the mid 80s, he turned into a lieutenant of mafia kingpin Dawood Ibrahim. The 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts was a turning point in his criminal career since he parted ways with Dawood on communal grounds. The past two decades of Rajan's life has been marred with a number of assassination attempts and vicious gang-war with the D-company. On October 26, 2015, he was arrested by Indonesian Police on inputs received from Australian Intelligence.
