Diana Penty

Diana Penty is an Indian model and an actress who stars in Hindi movies. She made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with romantic comedy film Cocktail which had also starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia and Boman Irani. The film was a major commercial success in both India and abroad.

In 2016, she starred in romantic comedy Happy Bhag Jayegi alongside Abhay Deol, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal, and Momal Sheikh. Diana played a free-spirited bride-to-be from Amritsar who runs away from her wedding ceremony and arrives in Lahore, Pakistan. The movie got mixed reviews upon its release but it did well at the box office.

Diana then acted in Lucknow Central, a 2017 movie that also starred Farhan Akhtar, Ronit Roy, Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma and Inaamulhaq in leading roles. The movie got mostly negative reviews and failed to perform at the box office.

The following year Diana starred in two movies - Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. The former, which also featured John Abraham and Boman Irani in lead roles, received mostly positive reviews and did well at the box office. The second movie, which is a sequel to the 2016 film Happy Bhag Jayegi, had actors Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Sheirgill, Piyush Mishra, Ali Fazal, and Jassi Gill. It was a box office disaster.

In 2019, Diana made a special appearance in song Shehar Ki Ladki in movie Khandaani Shafakhana, which starred Sonakshi Sinha and Badshah.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Diana Penty was born on November 2, 1985 in Mumbai to a Parsi father and a Christian mother. She had studied at St. Agnes High School in Mumbai and graduated from St. Xavier's College with a bachelor's degree in Mass Media.

EARLY CAREER:

Diana began her career as a model in 2015 when she started working for Elite Models India. She made her runway debut at the Indo-Italian Festival for Italian designers Nicola Trussardi and Gianfranco Ferre. She has modelled for several Indian designers, prominent brands, and has also endorsed global brands including Maybelline, Garnier and Forever 21.

AWARDS:

In 2012 she won Best Debut (Female) at the Vogue Beauty Awards and UK Bollywood Cosmopolitan Awards. She was also nominated for a host of other awards for her role in movie Cocktail. In 2018 she won the Style Icon of the Year Award at GeoSpa AsiaSpa Awards.
