Hyundai India, the country’s second largest automaker, is reportedly planning to equip it premium hatchback Elite i20 with an all new petrol unit. The new unit is expected to be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and is said to be in the testing phase right now. The new 1.0-litre unit is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.

Hyundai Elite i20 sales crosses 1 lakh mark in just 11 months

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country's second largest carmaker introduced the Elite i20 hatchback back in August 2014. The company today announced that the sales of the premium hatchback have crossed over 1 lakh within 11 months of its launch. HMIL managed to sell over 10,000 units of the hatch constantly in the market.

Korean auto giant - Hyundai Motor India have revealed that their domestic sales figure for the month of May 2014 has grown by 3.4 percent. This is when, the company recorded a sales figure of 37,450 units in comparison to previous years 36,205 for the same period. Exports which is also an essential business of Hyundai India, witnessed a negative growth of 2.9 percent with the current number standing at 15,065 units as compared to 15,513 units last year. Talking about its cumulative figure, it saw a growth of 1.5 percent as the figure stood at 52,515 units as against 51,718 units for the month of May.
