Erica Fernandes is 23 year old actress born on May 7, 1993 to Ralph Fernandes, a model and interior designer, and Lavina. Her mother Lavina Fernandes worked with Air India and Bank of America. Erica Fernandes was born in Mangalore and brought up in Mumbai. Her parents had originated from Mangalore, Karnataka. Erica has an elder brother Jermaine Fernandes who works at Ernst and Young in Mumbai. She did her schooling from Holy Cross High School and completed her college from SIES College of Arts, Science, and Commerce/.

She pursued her Bachelors in Arts from St. Andrew's College, Mumbai. After getting the modeling offer she dropped out of college. She took part in the beauty pageant Miss India 2012 finished in the top 10-2012. She won the Miss India Fresh Face- 2012 and Miss India Fresh Face- 2012.

The actress is currently seen in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi as Dr. Sonakshi Bose in the lead role. Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi also stars Shaheer Sheikh, Erica Fernandes and Supriya Pilgaonkar. In the show, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi Sonakshi plays a nutritionist who is very dedicated to her work and loves her family and puts them at the top of her priority list.

Erica Fernandes has worked in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu language films. Erica had earlier auditioned to play the lead role in S. J. Surya's Isai, however she was not selected. Later she was selected to play the lead role in the bilingual Virattu / Dega instead, featuring alongside newcomer Sujiv, son of the director Kumar. The actress did the Tamil film Ainthu Ainthi Aintu as Manjari, in the film. In Ninnindale she played the character Pramila. The other films of Erica Fernandes include Babloo Happy Hai, Virattu, Galipatnam, Buguri, Vizhithiru.

In 2014, she made her debut in Kannada with the film Ninnindale featuring alongside Puneet Rajkumar.Later she was seen in her debut Hindi film Babloo Happy Hai, directed by Nila Madhab Pand who had directed films like I am Kalam and Jalpari. The film Babloo Happy Hai also features Sahil Anand, Erica Fernandes, Sumit Suri, Amol Parashar, Preet Kamal, Anu Choudhury, Reyhna Malhotra and Parvin Dabas in pivotal roles.

The actress will be seen in Tamil action thriller Vizhithiru which is written and directed by Meera Kathiravan, who debuted with Aval Peyar Thamizharas. She will also be seen in the Kannada film Iravatha which also stars superstar Darshan. The directyor of the film will be AP Arjun while the film will be produced by Sansesh Najraju.

Erica has been nominated for the show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi for the Best Onscreen Jodi (shared with Shaheer Sheikh) and Best Female Debut at the Zee Gold Awards. Other interests of Erica Fernandes include painting, cooking, adventure sports, playing keyboard and designing clothes.Erica Fernandes has won numerous awards and titles. Her achievements include Bombay Times Fresh Face 2010, Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face 2011, Pantaloons Femina Miss Maharashtra 2011 and Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2012. She has also been rated as most desirable women in 2012. In Maharashtra 2011, she was asked about the important qualities that Miss India should have. Erica had confidently said that she needs to be contemporary, poised, elegant and graceful, for she would represent India on the global stage as its ambassador. Presently, the actress is single and says that she is too busy with work and has no time for love.
