Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra on Wednesday said the implementation of loudspeaker guidelines will be strictly monitored and action will be taken as per law in case of any violations.

The official notification issued by the state Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar cited the Supreme Court ruling regarding the implementation of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and said the loudspeaker or the Public Address System should not be used except after obtaining permission from the designated authority.

The loudspeakers row started when the MNS chief on April 12 gave an ultimatum to the Maharashtra government to remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3, failing which, he warned, MNS workers will play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers.
