We informed you earlier that Honda Car India have imported three units of the Brio based compact SUV in India from Thailand for testing purposes. Interestingly, the company has also imported three units of its CVT transmissions assembly for the Brio SUV 1.5-litre i-VTEC 2WD variant. It is now clear that the compact SUV will be made available in both manual and automatic transmission options.

Honda, the Japanese automaker, is planning to enter into the growing compact SUV segment of the Indian car market. The company is working on a small SUV to rival against the likes of Renault Duster and the upcoming Hyundai ix25. We have already seen three popular products based on the versatile Brio platform- the Brio hatch, Amaze compact sedan and Mobilio MPV. Now, the fourth product to be based on this flexible platform will be the much-awaited Honda's compact SUV.
