Hyundai Elite i20 sales crosses 1 lakh mark in just 11 months

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country's second largest carmaker introduced the Elite i20 hatchback back in August 2014. The company today announced that the sales of the premium hatchback have crossed over 1 lakh within 11 months of its launch. HMIL managed to sell over 10,000 units of the hatch constantly in the market.

For past a couple of years, Honda hasn't had a right contender in the premium hatchback segment, as the company phased out the highly acclaimed but overpriced and slow-selling Jazz. With the new Jazz, Honda wants to increase sales into the even more premium territory. The new model seems larger and more upmarket than the previous one. Based on an all-new platform, the new Jazz has a striking similarity with the last generation car and carries the same cab-forward design philosophy. What went wrong with the previous model was the lack of a diesel powertrain and high pricing, but with the new model it seems like Honda has addressed these two issues. Now, the new Jazz is available in diesel and is likely to be priced competitive, thanks to use of local components.

Korean auto giant - Hyundai Motor India have revealed that their domestic sales figure for the month of May 2014 has grown by 3.4 percent. This is when, the company recorded a sales figure of 37,450 units in comparison to previous years 36,205 for the same period. Exports which is also an essential business of Hyundai India, witnessed a negative growth of 2.9 percent with the current number standing at 15,065 units as compared to 15,513 units last year. Talking about its cumulative figure, it saw a growth of 1.5 percent as the figure stood at 52,515 units as against 51,718 units for the month of May.

Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has reinforced its position at the market leader in FY 2014-15 with its models Alto, Swift, Dzire and WagonR retaining the top four bestselling cars spots. According to a data by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Maruti's entry level small car Alto sold 2,64,492 units in 2014-15 as against 2,58,281 units in the previous fiscal, up 2.4 per cent, retaining its numero uno position for the tenth consecutive year.  The Alto has been Maruti’s most populat entry level car and is currently being sold in two different models – Alto 800 and Alto K10.

Hyundai Cars Sales March 2015: Hyundai records 12.9 % growth in domestic sales, while cumulative figures go down by 3.8%

India's second largest automaker - Hyundai Motor India Ltd has recorded a growth of 12.9 per cent in domestic sales. As per the company, it has sold 39,525 units last month as compared to 35,003 units last year for the same period. Exports stood at 10,215 units which when compared with last year's figure of 16,705 units indicate a decline of 38.9 per cent. As for the cumulative sales figure, the number recorded for March 2015 was 49,740 units in contrast to 51,708 units, which again shows a decline of 3.8 per cent.

South Korean automaker Hyundai will be launching its long the highly anticipated i20 Active today in India. Based on the company’s top selling hatchback Elite i20, the i20 Active is Hyundai first crossover car to be launched in India and upon launch will be going up against the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Avventura. Hyundai i20 Active Launch Date: Hyundai plans global debut for i20 Active crossover in India next month

Korean auto major Hyundai has decided to make the global debut of its new crossover model, i20 Active in India next month. The launch will be part of Hyundai’s plans to bring new products to touch the 5 lakh sales milestone in the country. The i20 Active is based on Hyundai’s popular premium hatchback Elite i20, which was launched last year. While revealing the design renderings of the "SUV looking car", the company said it has "sporty refinement, with the enhanced practicality and quality" without sharing details.
