Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) is targeting around 8 per cent growth in domestic sales this year to 4.1 lakh units on the back of improved buyer sentiment and new product launches. The company, which today expanded its compact car portfolio with the launch of premium compact car Elite i20, priced between Rs 4.9 lakh and Rs 7.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), had sold 3.8 lakh units in domestic market in 2013. "This year our target for sales in domestic market is 4.10 lakh units. Last year we had sold 3.8 lakh units in the domestic market," Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) Senior Vice President (Sales & Marketing) Rakesh Srivastava told reporters here. The past three months have seen improvement in customer sentiment resulting in better sales in the automotive segment, he added.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today reported a marginal increase in total sales at 51,471 units in September 2014. The company had sold 51,417 units in the same month last year, it said in a statement. In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 35,041 units last month as compared to 30,601 units in September 2013, up 14.5 per cent.

(PTI) Korean car major Hyundai is looking to tap new customers in rural areas and corporate segment to increase its market share in the Indian automobile market, the company's wholly-owned arm Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), which will make the global launch of its all new premium hatchback Elite i20 this month, also plans to introduce a new model each year in the segment where it is not present.

Hyundai Motor India Limited has registered 15,300 bookings and more than 75,000 enquiries of just launched - Elite i20 in just 20 days of its launch. According to the company, Elite i20 is the third product of Hyundai Motors to achieve such a huge response and created a landmark after the Xcent and Grand i10 and. The Grand i10 had achieved a landmark of 10,000 bookings in 20 just days; on the other hand, the Xcent of Hyundai had registered 11,000 bookings in 30 days after its launch. Hyundai Motors India is looking at 50% of a growth and has targeted monthly sales of 6000 units of Elite i20, Hyundai Motors expecting that the diesel variant and petrol variants to sell in the same numbers. The previous model – Hyundai i20 used to sell about 3500 to 3800 units per month.
