Ishaan Khatter

Ishaan Khatter is an Indian actor who works in the Hindi film industry. He made his first screen appearance in 2005 as a child in the movie Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!, which starred his half-brother Shahid Kapoor and actress Amrita Rao in lead roles.

In 2016, Ishaan had a cameo role in Udta Punjab, for which he was also an assistant director. The movie starred Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh. The movie did not perform so well at the box office, but at the 62nd Filmfare Awards, it won four awards.

Another movie he worked as assistant director in is 2017 movie Half Widow, which was directed by Danish Renzu. The film starred Neelofar Hamid, Shahnawaz Bhat, Mir Sarwar and Haseena Sofi in the lead roles. In the same year, he starred as a street hustler and drug dealer in the city of Mumbai in the movie Beyond the Clouds. The film got positive reviews with Ishaan and Malavika Mohanan earning praise for their performances, but it failed to perform at the box office. Ishaan, however, did win the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

The following year, Ishaan starred in romantic movie Dhadak alongside debutant Janhvi Kapoor. The movie, which was a remake of 2016 Marathi language film Sairat, received negative reviews from film critics for being a poor remake of the original. But both actors were praised for their performances, and the movie was a commercial success.

He will next be seen alongside actress Ananya Panday in movie Khaali Peeli, which is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2020. Ishaan will also star in BBC One's television series A Suitable Boy, co-starring Tabu and Tanya Maniktala. The drama series is an adaptation of Vikram Seth's novel by Mira Nair.

Personal Life:

Ishaan was born on November 1, 1995 in Mumbai to actors Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem. His half-brother Shahid is Azeem's son from her first marriage to actor Pankaj Kapur.

Early Life:

Ishaan was educated at Jamnabai Narsee School and Billabong High International School in Juhu, Mumbai. He also studied dance at Shiamak Davar's academy.

Achievements:

In 2017, Ishaan won Best Actor for Beyond the Clouds at the International Bosphorous Film Festival, in 2018 he won Best Male Debut for Dhadak and Beyond the Clouds at the Screen Awards, and in 2019, he won two awards, one for Best Male Debut for Dhadak and Beyond the Clouds at the Zee Cine Award, and the other at Filmfare Award for Beyond the Clouds, Best Male Debut.
