Jaguar, the British luxury carmaker had unveiled the 2015 Jaguar XE sedan at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. It is the cheapest Jaguar available in international market, and it will soon hit the Indian shores as well. Jaguar India has imported the XE sedan into India for homologation purpose. The imported model features 2.0-litre petrol motor and it has been arrived from the UK at a cost of around INR 20.80 lakh.

Jaguar, the British luxury carmaker, is planning to launch the highly rated XE Sports sedan in the Indian car market next year. It was speculated that the company is planning to locally assemble the sedan to price it competitive to the market. Now, Jaguar has imported one CKD unit of the XE sedan into India. The model is imported for the R&D (Research & Development) and Testing purpose. It is confirmed that the Jaguar's entry-level sports sedan will see local tweaks before hitting the roads.

Jaguar's latest design and technical innovation XE Sports Saloon has been in the international news for quite some time now. Recently launched in the UK at a price tag of GBP 26,990 (INR 26.05 lakh), there are rumors that the British marque could showcase this Sports Saloon in the upcoming 2016 Indian Auto Expo. Tata Motors owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has made automotive history in Britain with the launch of Jaguar's newest model XE, an entry-level luxury saloon car, at its factory in the West Midlands region of England. The factory at Solihull has traditionally been the home of sister brand Land Rover but the first Jaguar XE saloon rolled off the all-new production facilities at the plant this week. The 500-million pounds "factory within a factory" consists of a new body shop and trim and final facilities. The Tata Group's investment in the unit represents the largest single investment in the Solihull plant in its 70-year history.
