Similar locomotives are being currently used by long distance trains like Rajdhani Express and Jan Shatabdi Express. With the new locomotive, Tejas Express can run at a speed of 160 kmph against the current speed which is 130 kmph.

The fare of Tejas Express is 3 times higher than other trains like Jan Shatabdi express running on the similar route which means that there is an increase of more than 20% in the base fare for Tejas as against the Shatabdi.
