Janhvi Kapoor

Janhvi Kapoor is an Indian actress who stars in Hindi films and is the daughter of Boney Kapoor and late actress Sridevi. She made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with movie Dhadak opposite actor Ishaan Khatter, and though it received negative reviews from critics upon its release, it was a commercial success.

In the movie Dhadak, which was released July 20, 2018, Janhvi played the role of a young strong-minded upper-class girl who decides to elope with a lower-class boy played by Ishaan. It is a remake of the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat, and though critics stated that Dhadak was not as good as the original, both the young stars were praised for their performance.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Janhvi Kapoor was born March 1997 to film producer Boney Kapoor and late actress Sridevi. She has one sister, Khushi Kapoor, and two half-siblings, actor Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. She finished her studies from Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai and followed it with an acting course from Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in California.

CAREER:

After starring in the Shashank Khaitan-directed romance Dhadak, Janhvi began filming for Gunjan Saxena in 2019. The movie is based on the life of Gunjan Saxena, who is the first female Indian Air Force pilot and first Indian woman airforce pilot in combat. Along with Janhvi, it also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Angad Bedi and is directed by Sharan Sharma. The movie is set to be released on March 13, 2020.

Another movie that Janhvi has signed up for is Roohi Afza, a horror-comedy being directed by Hardik Mehta. She will play the lead role alongside Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma. The movie is scheduled to be released on April 17, 2020.

Along with the two upcoming movies, Janhvi will also be seen in Karan Johar's Takht, a period drama based on the Mughal era, which will feature an ensemble star cast. She will also be starring in Dostana 2, which is a sequel to 2008 film Dostana featuring actors Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra. In the sequel, which will be directed by Collin D'Cunha, Janhvi will star alongside Kartik Aaryan and newcomer Lakshya.
