Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi is an Argentine professional who plays for FC Barcelona and the Argentina National Team. Born on 24th June, 1987, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and can play anywhere across the frontline. From a career-threatening growth deficiency aged 10, the 'Next Maradona' rose to become the first Messi, proving to be the bedrock for Barcelona's domination for a decade. There are very few goalscoring records that Messi has not broken. His media built rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo has only captivated the drama surrounding 'El Clasico' matches further. Messi has won the Ballon D'Or a record four times. Apart from scoring more than 50 goals a season, Messi's vision and dexterity has also helped in setting up goals for his teammates. He is also Argentina's skipper and led his team to a runner-up finish in World Cup 2014, where he finished as the best player in the tournament.
