Longest Day of the Year

The Longest Day of the Year falls on June 21 every year, according to the Gregorian Calendar. It is also called the Summer Solstice and falls in the Northern Hemishphere. The Winter Solstice or the Shortest Day of the Year in the Northeren Hemisphere falls on December 21 each year. June 21 is the 172nd day of the year – the 173rd in the Leap Year – in the Gregorian calendar. So on this day, there are 193 days remaining until the end of the year on December 31. On non-Leap Years until 2039, June 21 will mark the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, where it will be the Longest Day of the Year. In the Southern Hemisphere, it will be the Shortest Day of the Year due to the Winter Solstice.

In India, the Longest Day of the Year is also marked as the International Day of Yoga, also known as International Yoga Day or World Yoga Day.
