Starting October 1, 2026, Biometric Aadhaar Authentication will be mandatory for all domestic LPG consumers seeking subsidies, a move aimed at ensuring benefits reach only eligible households. The authentication can be completed via delivery personnel, distributor outlets, or mobile apps offered by oil marketing companies.

The deadline to complete BAA was initially set for June 30, 2026, but it was extended multiple times to give customers additional time. The deadline was successively pushed back to July 31, August 7, August 15, August 23, August 31, September 7, and finally September 14.
