Mahira Khan

Mahira Hafeez Khan is a Pakistani actress and is most popularly known for her acting in television shows as well as in films. She started her career as a Video Jockey (VJ) and worked with MTV Pakistan and Aag TV as a VJ before starting her acting career. She made her debut in film industry with the critically acclaimed movie Bol. Her other movies include Bin Roye, Manto, Ho Mann Jahan, Actor in Law. However, she is most popularly known for portraying the character of Khirad Ishan in the show Humsafar opposite Fawad Khan. Currently, she is seen in Pakistani drama Shehr-e-Zaat where she portrays the role of Falak. The show also airs of Zindagi. She will be soon making her debut in Bollywood in the movie Raees where she will be seen opposite actor Shah Rukh Khan.

Born on 21^st December 1982 in Karachi, Pakistan, she was born in a Urdu speaking Pathan family. She completed her schooling from the Foundation Public School in Karachi and later she went to California for her higher education studies. She was only 17 years old when she went to California. She studied at the University of Southern California but she never completed her degree and later dropped out of the University. She then moved back to Pakistan and then started her career as a VJ. She hosted the love show Most Wanted three days a week on MTV Pakistan and later also hosted Weekends with Mahira on Aag TV. Later in 2011, she hosted 10^th Lux Style Awards with Faizan Haque and also participated in the opening of PFDC- the Boulevard of Pakistani designer wear in India. In 2011, she made her debut in films with the movie Bol directed by Shoaib Mansoor. In the same year, she was then seen in her first television drama, ARY Digital’s romance Neeyat. Her next appearance was in television program Humsafar. Humsafar was the series that is said to be the turning point of the Pakistani television industry. The show is also recognized as the highest rated Pakistani TV serial of all times. The show was the story about how two strangers with strikingly opposite personalities fall in love after an arranged marriage. Mahira was seen in the show with actor Fawad Khan who portrayed the role of Asher. The show received critical acclamations. Her other dramas include the 2013 spiritual ro,amce titled Shehr-e-Zaat as well as the 2014 romantic drama Sadqay Tumhare. In 2015, she was seen in the romantic Drama Bin Roye and was later seen in a supporting role on the biographical drama Manto. As of 2016, she was seen plyng the leading role n coming of age drma Ho Mann Jahaan.

Mahira Khan is married to Pakistani television actor Ali Askari. She met Ali Askari at Indus TV studios during her vacation. The couple got married on 13^th July 2007 and they have two children, a son named Azlaan and a daughter. Her upcoming releases include Raees directed by Rahul Dholakia and Shoaib Mansoor’s upcoming 2017 social drama film Verna. Mahira Khan is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in upcoming film "Raees". The actress will be seen playing the role of SRK's wife in the film. The movie is directed by Rahul Dholakia and will be produced by Excel Entertainment, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. SRK will be seen playing the role of a gangster based in Gujarat while Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the cop who traps him in Mumbai. She was listed tenth in ‘Sexiest Asian Women’ poll by Eastern Eye in 2015. She has also been called as Pakistan’s sexiest woman in 2015.
