Her father is a Punjabi while her mother is a Malayali Catholic. She has a younger sister Amrita Arora who is also an actress, model, TV Presenter & VJ. Malaika Arora Khan completed her secondary education from Swami Vivekanand School. She studied in Holy Cross High School Thane till ninth grade. She got admission in Jai Hind College in Mumbai, however she did not complete her graduation as she got busy professionally. She has a degree in Economics and a minor in communications. The film was directed by debutant Abhishek Dogra and was produced by actor Arbaaz Khan under his production house Arbaaz Khan Productions.The film starred Sonam Kapoor in the title role and also features Pulkit Samrat, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma. The film was released on January 23, 2015. The film's trailer was unveiled on Malaika's and Arbaaz's anniversary in December 2014.
