New Maruti Alto 800 diesel India launch in December, 2015: to get Celerio 800cc diesel engine

Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker will launch the much-awaited S-Cross crossover on August 5, 2015. Adding to it, the company also has a large number of products including YRA premium hatchback, Dzire AMT, Ertiga facelift and others that will go on sale this year. According to autocarpro.in, MSI is also working on the new Alto 800 which is likely to be more fuel efficient and will go on sale by December, 2015.

With a sales figure of 27 lakh units over the last decade, the Alto series is one of India's most preferred choices and therefore Alto 800 CNG features a saving of upto INR 53,100. On the other hand,  the Alto K10 provides a benefit of up to INR 35,000. 

Maruti Suzuki Alto Recalled: Maruti recalls over 33,000 units of Alto 800, Alto K10 over defective door latches

Country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India has announced the recall of 33,098 units of its entry level car models Alto 800 and Alto K10 in order to rectify defective latches on the right side doors. The key problem here seems to be with door latch assembly that could spontaneously pop open while driving if not closed properly. Maruti will be specifically recalling cars that were manufactured between December 8, 2014 and February 18, 2015. The company will proactively inspect and replace the 'right hand door latch assembly' of 19,780 units of Alto 800 and 13,318 units of Alto K10, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement.

Maruti's entry level model Alto 800 ranks highest in the entry compact segment for initial quality, while rival Hyundai's i10 gets the top slot in the compact segment, said a study today. According to JD Power 2014 India Initial Quality Study rankings, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 ranks highest in the entry compact segment with 97 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), while the company's Swift ranks highest in the premium compact segment with 78 PP100.
