Maruti Suzuki has unveiled a new SP edition of its popular hatchback Swift in India at a starting price of INR 5.15 lakh. Based on the Swift’s base variants LXi and LDi the new SP edition with will be produced in limited number and will be launched specially for the festive season.

Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India has hiked prices of all its products by up to INR 9,000, except that of newly launched premium crossover S-Cross, citing changes in dealer margin. The auto major, however, said that the prices of its all new premium crossover S-Cross, which was launched earlier this month, would remain unchanged.

And the first of the lot is likely to be the new 2015 Ertiga MPV. Country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India will have a "high number of new model launches" in this fiscal, including a compact sport utility vehicle, as it looks to consolidate its leadership position. The company, which will have a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat where its parent Suzuki Motor Corp will invest, said Centre alone cannot realise the dream of the country becoming a global manufacturing hub and states would have to play an important role.

Maruti Suzuki recently launched its much awaited S-Cross premium crossover in India at a starting price of INR 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With the car all set to roll out in the market the carmaker has now shifted its concentration towards its next venture, which is expected to be the 2015 facelift of its popular MPV Ertiga. Recently the car was spotted in Indonesia with completely new front end equipped with a new sporty body kit.

With the S-Cross salted to be launched next month in India, Maruti is dividing its concentration towards its next big product the YRA premium hatchback. Expected to be introduced in 2016 Delhi Auto Show, it has been revealed that Maruti will launch the car without the much hyped turbo-petrol engine. Similar to the S-Cross, even the YRA premium hatchback will be sold via Maruti’s new premium dealership Nexa.

Auto major Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) plans to accelerate new product launches in the country in line with its vision of selling 20 lakh cars per annum by 2020. The company, which sells various popular models including Alto and Swift, is looking to have a localisation content of around 85 per cent on an average across its premium and volume products.
