The story of Mubarakan is about twin brothers Karan (Arjun Kapoor) and Charan (Arjun Kapoor) who are as different as chalk and cheese. While Karan has grown up in London and so is very smart and cool, Charan has been in Punjab all his life and is very desi and rooted. Each of them has a love interest. Karan from London loves Sweety (Ileana D'cruz) and Charan is in love with Nafisa (Neha Sharma).
The twist comes when Karan's wedding is about to be fixed with Binkle (Athiya Shetty), the daughter of a wealthy man in London. Since Karan is totally in love with Sweety, he convinces his family to fix Binkle's wedding with his twin brother Charan instead. But will Charan leave Nafisa to marry Binkle?
