Nithya Menon

Nithya Menon is an Indian actress and playback singer who works predominantly in the south Indian cinema. She made her acting debut as a child artist in the 1998 English film The Monkey Who Knew Too Much. Her movie debut came in 2006 in the Kannada movie 7 O' Clock in a supporting role. She is also a recipient of numerous awards, among them a Nandi Award for Best Actress and three Filmfare Awards.

Where singing is concerned, Nithya worked in the Kannada movie Aidondla Aidu in 2010, followed by Ala Modalaindi (Telugu-2011), Ishq (Telugu-2012), Poppins (Malayalam-2012), Jabardasth (Telugu-2013), Natholi Oru Cheria Meenalla (Malayalam-2013), Myna (Kannada-2013), Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde (Telugu-2013), Malini 22 Palayamkottai (Tamil-2013), Malini 22 (Telugu-2013), Rockstar (Malayalam-2015), 24 (Telugu-2016), 100 Days of Love (Telugu-2016), and Mohanlal (Malayalam-2018).

MOVIES:

After making her debut, Nithya went on to star in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films like Aakasha Gopuram (Malayalam-2008), Josh (Kannada-2009), Vellathooval (Malayalam-2009), Kerala Cafe (Malayalam-2009), Angel John (Malayalam-2009), Apoorvaragam (Malayalam-2010), Anwar (Malayalam-2010), Aidondla Aidu (Kannada-2011), Ala Modalaindi (Telugu-2011), Urumi (Malayalam-2011), 180 (Telugu-2011), Nootrenbadhu (Tamil-2011), Violin (Malayalam-2011), Veppam (Tamil-2011), and Makaramanju (Malayalam-2011).

2012 TO 2014:

In 2012, Nithya starred in one Telugu movie, Ishq, and the rest were all in Malayalam, namely, Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty, Karmayogi, Ustad Hotel, Doctor Innocentanu, Bachelor Party, and Poppins. In 2013, she starred in Okkadine (Telugu), Jabardasth (Telugu), Myna (Kannada), and Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde (Telugu), and followed them with Malini 22 Palayamkottai (Tamil), and Bangalore Days (Malayalam-Cameo) in 2014.

2015 TO 2016:

Nithya featured in a number of movies in 2015, namely, Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju (Telugu), JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai (Tamil), 100 Days of Love (Malayalam), S/O Satyamurthy (Telugu), Kanchana 2 (Tamil), O Kadhal Kanmani (Tamil), and Rudramadevi (Telugu). In 2016 in the movies 24 (Tamil), Rajadhi Raja (Telugu), Okka Ammayi Thappa (Telugu), Kotigobba 2 (Kannada), Mudinja Ivana Pudi (Tamil), Janatha Garage (Telugu), and Iru Mugan (Tamil).

2017 TO 2020:

In 2017, Nithya featured in the movie Mersal (Tamil), followed by Telugu movies Awe and Geetha Govindam in 2018. In 2019, she made a special appearance in the Telugu movie NTR Kathanayakudu, followed by Praana (Malayalam), Mission Mangal (Hindi Debut), and Frozen II (Telugu-Voice). She will next be seen in Psycho (Tamil), Kolaambi (Malayalam), Aaram Thirukalpana (Malayalam), and The Iron Lady (Tamil-As Jayalalitha).

PERSONAL LIFE:

Nithya Menen was born on April 8, 1988 in Bangalore, Karnataka and studied journalism at Manipal University. She later enrolled for a course in cinematography at the FTII Pune.
