Priyanka Chopra is a former Miss World, and a Bollywood and Hollywood actress, a television actress and international pop singer. She is one of the highest-paid TV actresses in the world. She was born to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Chopra, both doctors in the Indian Army, on July 18, 1982. The actress has a younger brother, Siddharth, who has done hotel management. Her father died in June 2013. Priyanka Chopra has studied at John F. Kennedy High School, Newton North High School, Jai Hind College, and La Martiniere, in India and the US. Before making her career in Bollywood, Priyanka Chopra was crowned Miss World 2000 and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty Asia & Oceania at the Millennium Dome in London. In 2003, Priyanka Chopra made her Bollywood film debut as the second female lead opposite Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in Anil Sharma's film The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. The actress also worked in 2002 Tamil film Thamizhan.

Some of the other films in which Priyanka Chopra made a mark include Andaaz in which she co starred with Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta who made her debut. The other successful films of the actress included Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Aitraaz. In Aitraaz, she received critical acclaim for her role as the scheming seductress. She also won the best villain award. Other films like Rohan Sippy's Bluffmaster, Rakesh Roshan's superhero film Krrish (a sequel to the 2003 science-fiction film Koi... Mil Gaya), Farhan Akhtar's film Don also showed her acting talent. Chopra also starred in various duds like Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love, Love Story 2050, Big Brother, God Tussi Great Ho, Drona, Chamku among others.

Priyanka Chopra's career revived with Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion which focussed on the lives and career of the models. The film also showed the dark side of the film world. The actress later confessed that she has reluctantly accepted the role. Her performance won her the National Film Award for Best Actress, the Filmfare Award for Best Actress, the IIFA Award for Best Actress, the Screen Award for Best Actress, and the Producers Guild Film Award for Best Actress in a leading Role.

The other films in which Priyanka gave a stellar performance include Karan Johar's Dostana, and Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey and 7 Khoon Maaf. Priyanka also starred in Karan Malhotra's action drama Agneepath and Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahaani, Anurag Basu's Barfi!, with Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz. In the film Priyanka impressed everyone with her performance as Jhilmil Chatterjee, an autistic woman who falls in love with a deaf, mute man (Kapoor). She received rave reviews for her performance from critics as well as the audiences. Her earlier film with Ranbir Kapoor, Anjaana Anjaani, was a dud. Her film Don 2, Agneepath and Barfi! rank among the highest grossing Bollywood films of all time.

Other than films, Piggy Chops, as she is fondly called, lent her voice to the character of Ishani, the reigning Pan-Asian champion from India and the love interest of the main protagonist in the Disney Animation Studios's film Planes. The recent films of Priyanka Chopra include Yash Raj Films' romantic action drama Gunday directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, alongside Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Irrfan Khan. She next featured in Mary Kom, a biographical film of the five time world boxing champion and Olympic bronze medalist Mary Kom, Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do, an ensemble comedy-drama alongside Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and Farhan Akhtar. She was also seen in Prakash Jha's Jai Gangaajal. Priyanka Chopra next starred alongside Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic historical romance drama Bajirao Mastani as Kashibai.

Her first song as a playback singer in Bollywood was "Chaoro" from Mary Kom. The actress also received mixed reviews for her first international single "In My City" which was a commercial success in India. In October 2012, the single won her the Best International Debut award at the People's Choice Awards India. In July 2013, Priyanka Chopra released her second single "Exotic" featuring American rapper Pitbull, along with its music video. Her third single, a cover of Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" was released in April 2014. She also did a single with The Chainsmokers.

Her foundation The Priyanka Chopra Foundation for Health and Education works towards providing support to underprivileged children across the country in the areas of education and Health. She donates 10 percent of her earnings to fund the foundations operations, and pays for educational and medical expenses for seventy children in India and out of seventy children fifty of them are girls.

Priyanka Chopra gained popularity in the West as a lead of the ABC TV show Quantico that premiered on September 27, 2015. The show became so popular that she was seen in its second season, and will now be seen in the third and last season of Quantico. Priyanka Chopra plays the protagonist of the series, Alex Parrish, who is suspected of committing a terrorist attack. She is first part of a group of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents, and later of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Priyanka Chopra first Hollywood film, Baywatch, released in 2017 to average reviews. It is directed by Seth Gordon, and also starred Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Zac Efron, and Alexandra Daddario. Priyanka Chopra played Victoria Leeds, the main villain, in the film based on the popular television series of the 1990s. 

Priyanka Chopra produced two regional language films under her production company Purple Pebble Pictures the Marathi film Ventilator, and untitled Punjabi film. She will be making many more regional films, including in Bengali. Her TV show Quantico got featured in the top 50 crime shows on Netflix. The actress has also graced the cover of W magazine as one of the Hollywood Royals alongside the likes of Cindy Crawford, Chris Evans, Kanye West. She appeared on many more covers and international TV shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Jimmy Fallon Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and several others.
