Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989. He has been the youngest Prime Minister of India. He was one among the powerful figures of the Gandhi-Nehru family. Gandhi was however killed by a suicide bomber in 1991 while in a public meeting. Indira Gandhi, mother of Rajiv Gandhi had also served as the Prime Minister from1966 to 1977 and then again from 1980 to 1984. She was also killed by a shooter. Sonia Gandhi, the current President of Congress is the wife of the late PM. Rahul, Congress Vice-President and Priyanka Gandhi are his children.
