Rakul Preet Singh is an Indian actress and model who predominantly works in the Telugu and Tamil film industries but has starred in Hindi movies as well. She began her acting career in 2009, making her debut in Kannada movie Gilli, which was a remake of Selvaraghavan's 7G Rainbow Colony.

As per reports, Rakul is said to have stated that she signed up for the movie to earn a little extra pocket money. After winning critical acclaim for her role in Gilli, she decided to complete her graduation, and then went on to compete in the 2011 Femina Miss India pageant.

2011 TO 2018:

Rakul, who has been nominated for several Filmfare Awards for Best Actress - Telugu, began her acting career in full swing from 2011 with movies Keratam (Telegu), and Yuvan (Tamil). In 2012, she starred in Tamil movie Thadaiyara Thaakka, and the following year in Puthagam (Tamil), and Venkatadri Express (Telegu). In 2014 she made her Hindi debut with movie Yaariyan, followed by Yennamo Yedho (Tamil), Rough (Telegu), Loukyam (Telegu), and Current Theega (Telegu).

In 2015, Rakul starred in Pandaga Chesko (Telegu), Kick 2 (Telegu), and Bruce Lee - The Fighter (Telegu), and the following year in Nannaku Prematho (Telegu), Sarrainodu (Telegu), and Dhruva (Telegu). In 2017, she starred in five movies, namely, Winner (Telegu), Rarandoi Veduka Chudham (Telegu), Jaya Janaki Nayaka (Telegu), Spyder (Telegu/Tamil), and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (Tamil). In 2018, she had one movie, Aiyaary (Hindi).

2019 TO 2020:

Rakul made a special appearance in 2019 movie N. T. R. Kathanayakudu (Telegu), and in the same year in Dev (Tamil), De De Pyaar De (Hindi), NGK (Tamil), and Manmadhudu 2 (Telegu), and will also be seen in Hindi movie Marjaavaan. She has two upcoming movies, and they are both in Tamil.


Rakul Preet Singh was born on October 10, 1990 in New Delhi to Kulvinder Singh, a retired Colonel of the Indian Army, and Rini Singh, and she has one brother. She completed her schooling from Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi, and then studied Mathematics at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi.
