Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor is a popular and one of the highest paid actors in India. Ranbir Kapoor was born on September 28, 1982, in Mumbai. His parents are veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, both revered for their acting. Ranbir Kapoor is the grandson of the great actor-director Raj Kapoor and the great-grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor. His elder sister is Riddhima Kapoor-Sahni. She is a jewellery designer by profession and stays in Delhi with her husband and daughter. Famous actresses Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are Ranbir Kapoor's first cousins. Ranbir Kapoor did his schooling from Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, Mumbai, and later studied filmmaking in New York. Ranbir Kapoor bagged two consecutive Best Actor awards at Filmfare for playing the role of a troubled musician in the drama Rockstar and a deaf-mute man in the movie Barfi! Not only is Ranbir Kapoor a famous actor but also supports various causes and charities. He is the co-founder of the production company Picture Shuru Productions along with Anurag Basu. He also co-owns the Indian Super League football team Mumbai City FC. 

Ranbir Kapoor is the recipient of five Filmfare Awards, namely; Best Male Debut for Saawariya, Critics Award for Best Actor for Wake up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year and Rockstar. He also won the Best Actor awards for Rockstar and Barfi! He served as an Assistant director for the movies Aa Ab Laut Chalen and Black. He has acted in Saawariya, Luck by Chance, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Wake up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Raajneeti, Anjaana Anjaani, Chillar Party, Rockstar, Barfi!, Bombay Talkies, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Besharam, Bhoothnath Returns, PK, Roy, Bombay Velvet, Tamasha, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Jagga Jasoos. 

Ranbir Kapoor won the award for Most Promising Newcomer Male for Saawariya and Nokia Future of Entertainment Award in the year 2008. In 2012, he won the Best Actor for Rockstar. He also won the award for Jodi No. 1 along with Priyanka Chopra for Barfi! He was Nominated for Jodi No. 1 along with Sonam Kapoor for Saawariya in 2008, Best Actor for Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2009, Best Actor for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year in 2010, Best Actor (Popular Choice) for Wake Up Sid & Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahan in 2010, Jodi No. 1 along with Katrina Kaif for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in 2010, Best Actor for Raajneeti in 2011, Best Actor (Popular Choice) for Rockstar in 2012, Best Actor (Popular Choice) for Barfi! in 2013.He was awarded the Superstar of Tomorrow award for Saawariya, Wake Up Sid and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. He bagged the International Male Icon award in 2011, Favourite Movie Youth Icon in 2012, Star's Sabsey Favourite Kaun Awards, Sabsey Favourite Naya Hero for Saawariya in 2007, FICCI Frames 2010 Excellence Awards, Entertainer of the Year in 2010 and Limca Book of Records, People of the Year award in 2013.

Ranbir Kapoor has been vocal about his personal life. He dated actress Deepika Padukone in 2008 while filming Bachna Ae Haseeno. This attracted substantial media coverage in India. The couple broke up later after rumours of Ranbir's mom Neetu Kapoor not liking Deepika. Ranbir Kapoor later dated actress Katrina Kaif for many years, since their film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani together. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were in a live-in relationship for more than a year before breaking up in 2016. The two ex-lovers were seen together in the 2017 release Jagga Jasoos, directed by Anurag Basu.
