Born on March 8, 1984 Ross Taylor promised a lot. He was expected to take responsibility of the batting order following the retirements of Stephen Fleming and Nathan Astle. Often his efforts go unnoticed and it is only his stats which back his talent, averaging over 40 in both forms of the game.He has curbed his natural game to stay at the crease for a longer period of time. Along with Kane Williamson, he has reinvented his game and give New Zealand a strong middle order to bank upon. He remains susceptible early on in the innings. But once he settles in, it is tough to dislodge Taylor. As a Test batsman, a lot remains to be delivered on the promise of his talent.
