Sanya Malhotra

Sanya Malhotra is an Indian actress who works in the Hindi film industry. She made her Bollywood and acting debut in 2016 with sports movie Dangal alongside actors Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The movie, in which she portrayed wrestler Babita Kumari, was a huge commercial success and also became the highest-grossing Indian film ever.

In 2017 she worked as a choreographer for the song Sexy Baliye from musical drama Secret Superstar which starred Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij, Raj Arjun and Aamir Khan.

The following year, Sanya starred in Hindi movie Pataakha which was about two sisters who keep quarreling with one another. The movie was based on Charan Singh Pathik's short story titled Do Behnein, and it also starred Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover, Saanand Verma and Vijay Raaz in lead roles. The film received seven nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards.

Sanya then starred in 2018 comedy Badhaai Ho alongside actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Surekha Sikri. The movie, which was about a middle-aged couple who get pregnant much to the dismay of their grown-up son, was received well and was a huge commercial success. It became the 9th highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2018 and won four awards at the 64th Filmfare Awards.

In 2019, Sanya starred in romantic drama Photograph opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie is about a street photographer who tries to convince a girl to act as his fiancee so that his grandmother stops pressuring him to get married. The movie got positive reviews.

Personal Life:

Sanya was born on February 25, 1992 and raised in New Delhi, and she completed her graduation from Gargi College. She has trained in contemporary dance and ballet, and after her graduation, she participated in the dance reality show Dance India Dance and made it to the top 100.

Career:

She then moved to Mumbai where she started appearing for auditions and while also assisting camerapersons for television commercials. Sanya even appeared for a commercial and was paid Rs 5,000. It was after a year that she was called for an audition by casting director Mukesh Chhabra and was selected for Dangal.

Sanya will next to be seen in Anurag Basu's yet to be titled movie along with Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pankaj Tripathi.
