Shah Rukh Khan is known as the Baadshah of Bollywood. He is also known as SRK and Shah Sir or Shah Saab. Shah Rukh Khan is a renowned actor, TV personality and a producer. He is considered to be the second richest actor in the World. SRK was born on November 2, 1965 in a Muslim family in New Delhi. He grew up in Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi. His father name was Meer Taj Mohammed Khan and his mothe name was Lateef Fatima. In 1981, SRK lost his father, as he was suffering from cancer and his mother died in 1991 from complications of diabetes. Shah Rukh Khan is married to Gauri Khan and has three children Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. His upcoming movies include Jab Harry Met Sejal with Anushka Sharma in the lead, and a film with Aanand L Rai where SRK plays a dwarf.

Shah Rukh Khan did his schooling from St Columba's School, Delhi. After that he completed his graduation in Economics from Hansraj College and post graduation in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia. The actor started his career by working in the television series Circus and Fauji, Dil Dariya, Doosra Keval. Shah Rukh Khan became a known face after the television show Fauji went on air and where he convincingly played army cadet Abhimanyu Rai. And till date he has done more than 80 films. Before making his bollywood debut he studied acting under the mentorship of theatre director Barry John at Delhi's Theatre Action Group (TAG). He also attended the National School of Drama in Delhi. The star also played a lead role in a short film titled Mahaan Karz,where SRK plays the role of a treasurers son seeking employment at the kings palace. Shah Rukh Khan made his bollywood debut in the film Deewana in 1992 as it was released earlier than Dil Aashna Hai. SRK won the best debut award for the film. Shah Rukh earliest films include Maya Memsaab, Chamatkar, Dil Aashna Hai, and the comedy Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.

The actor gained immense popularity for his negative portrayal in the films such as Baazigar, Darr, Anjam. The actor played an obsessive lover in Darr, and a murderer in Baazigar. SRK won the Best Villain Award in Filmfare for his role as an obsessive lover in Anjaam, co-starring Madhuri Dixit and Deepak Tijori. Shah Rukh Khan won hearts after giving an outstanding performance in Aditya Chopras directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge popular as DDLJ opposite Kajol. The chemistry between the lead actors was loved by the audiences. The film also established Shah Rukh Khan as a perfect lover boy. The film went on to create records and is still being played in Maratha Mandir in Mumbai.

Shah Rukh Khan has showcased his talent in films such as Yes Boss, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Swades, My Name is Khan, Om Shanti Om and Chak De! India, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Pardes, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein and Karan Johar's family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The actor played a double role opposite Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre in Mahesh Bhatt's action comedy Duplicate, the actor played the title role in Santosh Sivan's historical epic film A?oka. Shah Rukh Khan made his debut in Tamil cinema with Hey Ram (2000), where he played the role of archaeologist Amjad Khan. SRKs role as a musician in the 1994 film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa opposite Deepak Tijori and Suchitra Krishnamurthyearned him a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance.

His film Raees released in 2017 to mixed reviews. His forthcoming films include an upcoming one with Anushka Sharma titled Jab Harry Met Sejal. It is directed by Imtiaz Ali. The actor will also be seen in Aanand L Rai's film in which he will be playing a dwarf. The film is slated to release in December 2018.

SRK has received 14 Filmfare Awards for his contributions to film, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri, and the Government of France awarded him both the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Lgion d'honneur. He is often referred to as King Khan. SRK has got many properties in India and abroad, he owns a villa Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.

As of 2015, Khan is co-chairman of the motion picture production company Red Chillies Entertainment and its subsidiaries, and is the co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. He is also the co-owner of West Indian T20 team Trinbago Knight Riders. But, the Mumbai Cricket Association has banned him for five years for aguing with the officials and security guard. Shah Rukh Khan has endorsed brands including Pepsi, Nokia, Hyundai, Dish TV, D'decor, LUX and TAG Heuer. He has also hosted many popular TV shows, such as Kaun Banega Crorepati, then Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hai. His popularity has been documented in several non-fiction films, including the two-part documentary.

The actor has also endorsed various governmental campaigns, including Pulse Polio and National AIDS Control Organisation. He is a member of the board of directors of Make-A-Wish Foundation in India and has been appointed by UNOPS as the first global ambassador of the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council.
