Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan is an Indian actress and singer who works in the Tamil, Telegu and Hindi film industries. She made her acting debut in 2009 Bollywood movie Luck alongside Imran Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and Sanjay Dutt. She is also the recipient of a number of awards, among them the Filmfare Awards South.

She started her career in movies at the age of six as a playback singer in the 1992 Tamil film Thevar Magan, and then made a cameo appearance in her father's directorial Hey Ram in 2000. After making her acting debut in 2009, Shruti then starred in 2011 Telegu movie Anaganaga O Dheerudu, which also marked her Telegu movie debut.

Shruti then went on to star in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji (Hindi-2011), 7aum Arivu (Tamil-2011), Oh My Friend (Telegu-2011), 3 (Tamil-2012), Gabbar Singh (Telegu-2012), Balupu (Telegu-2013), Ramaiya Vastavaiya (Hindi-2013), D-Day (Hindi-2013), Ramayya Vasthavayya (Telegu-2013), Yevadu (Telegu-2014), Race Gurram (Telegu-2014), a special appearance in the song Junction Lo in 2014 Telegu movie Aagadu, and in Poojai (Tamil-2014).

MOVIES IN 2015:

In 2015 she had a number of movies in her kitty, starting with a special appearance in the song Madamiyan in Hindi movie Tevar, then Gabbar Is Back (Hindi), Srimanthudu (Telegu), Welcome Back (Hindi), Puli (Tamil), and Vedalam (Tamil).

2016 ONWARD:

Shruti starred in two movies in 2016, Rocky Handsome (Hindi) and Premam (Telegu). In 2017, she acted in Si3 (Tamil), Katamarayudu (Telegu), and Behen Hogi Teri (Hindi). She has two movies that are upcoming, Hindi film Power and Tamil movie Laabam.

TELEVISION:

Shruti played host on television show Hello Sago from 2018 to 2019, she currently stars in American television series Treadstone, and she made a guest appearance on Bigg Boss Tamil 3 in 2019.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Shruti Haasan was born on January 28, 1986 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur, and she has one sister, Akshara Haasan, who is also an actress. She studied at Lady Andal school in Chennai and then moved to Mumbai to pursue a degree in Psychology at St. Andrew's College. With music being of interest to her, she went to the US to study it further at the Musicians Institute in California.
