Sooraj Pancholi

Sooraj Pancholi is an Indian actor and assistant director who works predominantly in the Hindi film industry. He made his acting debut in 2015 in the movie Hero alongside actress Athiya Shetty. The movie, which got mostly negative reviews upon its release, earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut and a Stardust Award for Best Jodi Of The Year which he shared with Athiya.

Before starting his acting career, Sooraj had been working as an assistant director on films such as Guzaarish, which was released in 2010 and starred actors Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles, and in Ek Tha Tiger, which was released in 2012 and starred Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead.

In 2019, Sooraj starred in Satellite Shankar alongside South Indian actress Megha Akash, and the movie is based on the life of Indian soldiers. He will next be seen in Time to Dance alongside Isabelle Kaif, who is the sister of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif.

Apart from movies, Sooraj has also featured in music videos, namely, GF BF by Gurinder Seagal along with Jacqueline Fernandez in 2016, and in Dim Dim Lights by Rahul Jain along with Larissa Bonesi in 2019.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Sooraj Pancholi was born on November 9, 1990 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh to Bollywood actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, and he has one sister. He is said to have done his schooling at Pali Hill school in Mumbai, but not much is known about his later studies.

CONTROVERSY:

Sooraj came into the limelight in 2013 after he was accused of having abetted in the suicide of his then-girlfriend and actress Jiah Khan on June 3, 2013. He was arrested on June 10 and sent to jail for the same but made bail the following month.
