Tara Sutaria

Tara Sutaria is an Indian actress who started her television career as a child artist in 2010 in Big Bada Boom of Disney India. She had started her association with Disney Channel India as a video jockey and continued to be associated with them, having two successful sitcoms to her credit. She made her Bollywood debut in 2019 with the teen drama Student of the Year 2.

In 2011, Tara appeared as herself on Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega which was an Indian variety entertainment reality show that aired on Sony Entertainment Television (India) on weekdays. The show was based on the popular American reality TV talent show 30 Seconds to Fame in which participants show off their unique talent and stand to win a cash prize.

Her next television stint was in 2012 doing a cameo role in Best of Luck Nikki, a Disney Channel India sitcom which is the official adaptation of the American series Good Luck Charlie, with a plot that is similar to the American version. The same year she starred in the channel's sitcom The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir and the following year in Oye Jassie.

Personal Life:

Tara was born on November 19, 1995 into a Zoroastrian Parsi family and she has a twin sister named Pia. She has been a professional singer since she was seven years old, having sung in operas and competitions. Both she and her sister trained in modern dance, classical ballet and Latin American dances at the School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance, Royal Academy of Dance, United Kingdom and the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dancing, United Kingdom.

Early Life:

Tara has been a professional singer since she was seven years old, having sung in operas and competitions since then. She graduated from St. Andrew's College of Arts, Science, and Commerce with a bachelor's degree in Mass Media. As a teen, she was one of the top seven finalists in the singer category of the 2008 Pogo Amazing Kids Awards.

Career:

Apart from acting, Tara is an accomplished singer too and she has been recording music in India and abroad for films, advertisements, and her own original work. Her song Slippin' Through My Fingers is part of the Ashwin Gidwani Production of Bharat Dhabholkar's Blame It On Yashraj. Tara also played the part of Sandy in musical production Grease of Raell Padamsee.

In Student of the Year 2, Tara played the lead role along with Tiger Shroff and Ananya Pandey. It is a sequel to the 2012 film Student of the Year. The movie got mixed reviews from critics, though Shroff was praised for his action sequences.

Tara will next be seen in Milap Zaveri's Marjaavaan alongside actors Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh, and in romantic action film Tadap which will be directed by Milan Luthria and which will also have debutant Ahan Shetty. The latter is a remake of 2018 Telugu film RX 100.
