Union Budget for the financial year 2016-17 will be presented by the central government on February 29. The budget document also referred to as the 'Annual Financial Statement' would be tabled by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Parliament. It shall reveal the roadmap of the Indian economy for the forth-coming financial year beginning from April 1, 2016. It broadly lists out the macro-economic framework, along with the fiscal policy strategy to be adopted by the Union. Legally validated under Article 112 of the Constitution, it grants Centre the authority to introduce tax changes; increase, decrease or rationalize subsidies and roll out the allotment of financial resources to various sectors within the economy.
