The USA has made history by becoming the first team to successfully defend a total of less than 125 runs in an ODI match, managing to protect a score of 122 against Oman. This achievement surpasses the previous record for the lowest total defended in the 50-over format, which was set by India in 1985, when they defended 125 runs against Pakistan during the Rothman's Four-Nation Cup.
