Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel (real name Mark Sinclair) is a famous Hollywood actor, director, producer and screen writer. He was born on July 18, 1967 and is rather famous for his portrayal of a street racer Dominic Toretto in Fast and the Furious franchise. Vin Diesel was born in California to Delora Sherleen Sinclair. He does not know his birth father and he along with his twin brother were raised by his mother and step father Irving H. Vincent who is an acting instructor and theater manager. Vin Diesel was introduced to acting in a rather interesting incident. When he was young, he along with his brother and some friends entered the Theater for the New City's space on Jane Street in order to vandalize it. When they were caught, the artistic director of the theater, Crystal Field asked then to act in his show instead of calling the police. The young boys agreed and Vin Diesel made his stage debut at the age of seven in childrens play titles Dinosaur Door written by Barbara Garson. Vin Diesel was hooked and remained associated with the theater till his teen years before joining Hunter College in the city. He took up creative writing studies and this began his career as a screenwriter. His movie career started in the year 1990 with a small role in the movie Awakenings. His early career was sprinkled with a lot of struggle and in 1994 he wrote, directed, produced and acted in a short film Multi Facial which was partly based on his own life as a struggling actor. The movie was selected for Cannes Film Festival. He then wrote, acted, directed and produced a feature length film Strays in 1997. The movie was a critical success and was selected for competition in the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. His role in Multi-facial won him a slot in Steven Spielbergs Oscar Winning movie Saving Private Ryan in 1998. In the movie, Diesel plays the role of Private First Class Adrian Caparzo, a rifleman who is killed early on in the movie by a sniper as his team goes to secure and save Private Ryan. Vin Diesel was next seen in Boiler Room, a drama thriller which was released in 2000. The movie also starred Giovanni Ribisi and Ben Affleck. He, however, got his break when he played the anti-hero Riddick in the movie Pitch Black. Success greeted Vin Diesel in the form of two back to back hits The Fast and the Furious in 2001 and XXX in 2002. He was effectively recognized as an action hero then. In the movie the Fast and The Furious he played the role of a street racer Dominic Toretto alongside Paul Walker. The movie was a super hit and though he was not seen in the next two installments of the franchise, he did a small cameo in the third installment Tokyo Drift. The franchise was then revived with the entire original cast and has had 7 rather successful film releases at the box office. Following the success of XXX, he acted in the movie The Chronicles of Riddick. The sci fi was a success. Vin Diesel also dabbled in action comedy in a family movie called the Pacifier. The movie was released in 2005 in which he did the role of Lieutenant Shane Wolfe who is tasked with the job of a baby sitter for an old friends family while the mother tries to sort out some confusion regarding a top secret device her husband was working on at the time of his death. The lighthearted comedy was a grand success. Vin Diesel has in total done 5 movies in the Fast and the Furious franchise and the next movie is slated for a 2018 release. Also, he has done sequels to the Chronicles of Riddick, lent his voice as Grute in the Guardians of Galaxy. He is currently in news for his upcoming movie, XXX - The Return of Xander Cage. The movie is slated for a January 2017 release and has created a strong curiosity in the trade circles. The film also stars a Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and is expected to drive large crowds to the screen to see the chemistry of the long legged lass and the hunky action hero. In the personal life, Vin Diesel lives with girl friend Paloma Jimenez who is a Mexican model. The couple are not married. They have three children, a daughter born in April 2008, a son Vincent Sinclair born in 2010 and another daughter Pauline who was born in March 2015. He named his youngest Pauline in honour of his friend and co-worker from the Fast and the Furious franchise Paul Walker after his tragic and untimely death in a car accident. He is also the god father of Paul Walkers daughter Meadow Rain Walker. Apart from this, Vin Diesel is a Dungeons and Dragons fan and has played the game for more than 20 years now. His upcoming movies include three sequels namely XXX The Return of Xander Cage, Furious 8 and the Guardians of Galaxy vol. 2.
