World Music Day

The World Music Day, also known as Music Day, Make Music Day or Worldwide Music Day, is held on 21 June every year. The World Music Day is known as Fête de la Musique in France. The country was the first to commemorate it (in1982). Now, World Music Day is celebrated in 120 countries, including India.

June 21 is also the Longest Day of the Year, while India marks the day as the International Day of Yoga as it is Summer Solstice. In fact, French Minister of Culture Jack Lang thought of the Summer Solstice as a perfect day to mark as World Music Day.
