Monica Dogra is one of best-known independent musicians in India. Not only does she have a pretty cool musical career as the lead singer for band Sha’air + Funk, but she has also tried her hands on modelling and acting in movies like Dhobi Ghat and David. Dogra has lived most her life in the US and moved to Mumbai just a few years ago to make it in the music industry. Very recently she was judging a music contest and now, she’ll be featuring in an international docu-series called Woman. (DON’T MISS More Photos) Leaving her career accomplishments aside, what’s left us in awe of this gorgeous woman are her travel pictures. Without much ado, here are some pictures from her travel tales that will definitely spark the wanderlust in you! (My major arcana card from #Osho #tarot deck) #BEYONDILLUSION – This is the only distinction between the dream and the real: reality allows you to doubt, and the dream does not allow you to doubt…. To me, the capacity to doubt is one of the greatest blessings to humanity. The religions have been enemies because they have been cutting the very roots of doubt, and there is a reason why they have been doing that: because they want people to believe in certain illusions that they have been preaching…. Why have the people like Gautam Buddha been so insistent that the whole existence–except your witnessing self, except your awareness–is just ephemeral, made of the same stuff as dreams are made of. They are not saying that these trees are not there. They are not saying that these pillars are not there. Don’t misunderstand because of the word “illusion”…. It has been translated as illusion, but illusion is not the right word. Illusion does not exist. Reality exists. Maya is just in between–it almost exists. As far as day-to-day activities are concerned, it can be taken as reality. Only in the ultimate sense, from the peak of your illumination, it becomes unreal, illusory. Looks like they’re all set to take a dip in the chilly water!
Sometimes this life is so shockingly beautiful – I thank God, my lucky stars, my courage, my inspiring friends, my understanding family, my tolerant lover, my will, my autonomy, my guru, and the Earth for being so full of wonder it’s fruits are endless. Here we swam in icy waters in the #Himalayas – shouting and laughing like excited children. Thank you @deepikamehtayoga for opening so many doors for magic to manifest and to @protimarodrigues for jumping in those waters with a bravery I will never forget!
