As India celebrates the 70th Independence Day today, New Delhi, the Capital of India, is where the most important events take place. On Independence Day, the Prime Minister of India makes an official speech ‘The Address to the Nation’, talking about the significance of the day at the Red Fort. This year Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag and addressed the nation and spoke about the importance of good governance. Dignitaries and school students swarmed the place with miniature tri-color flags to witness the event. The patriotic pride echoes at the Red fort when the crowd wait eagerly for the flag hoisting followed by honorary 21 gun shots. The ceremonial boulevard in New Delhi Rajpath also hosts the glorious six-day-long cultural festival called the Bharat Parv, which showcases the different cultures and handicrafts of the country.
