In the city where no one has the time for a proper sit-down lunch, sandwich is often the easiest go-to food. A sandwich is a perfect mini meal. Located near every major college in Mumbai, a sandwichwallah dishes out his (or her) trademark sandwich. Some enterprising folks will go the extra mile to make their sandwich really unique. As Mumbaikars, we love our sandwiches from street-side stalls rather than air conditioned five-star restaurants. As the name suggests, the Junglee sandwich is a wild combination of chutney, potato and mayonnaise. Another favorite sandwich here is the Mexican cheese grill, which has capsicum, tomato, onion and mint-coriander chutney. The place is usually jam-packed with hungry college students, so be prepared to push through the crowd to get your sandwich.
2. Chocolate sandwich
Where: Gupta Chaat Center, Near Matunga (Central) Railway Station
A heap of shaved chocolate sandwiched between two buttery slices of bread and topped with chocolate syrup, these sandwiches are heavenly. People are also crazy for the Sev Puri sandwich served at this place. The dish combines the citys favourite chaat with sandwich and the result is amazing.

3. Idli Sandwich
Where: A Rama Nayak and Sons Udipi
Yes, you heard it right, Idli sandwiches are served at A Rama Nayak and Sons Udipi. The sandwiches are made in idli moulds using butter, chutney, tomato and batter. The dish is addictive and is popular among regulars as well as newbies.
4. Bombay Sandwich
Where: Near St Xaviers College
Overflowing with fresh vegetables and cheese, the Bombay Sandwich is favorite among the well-heeled students of St Xavier’s College and the working class alike. You can never say ‘No’ to a Bombay sandwich.

5. Paneer Masala Toast
Where: Lucky Sandwich and Pizza Corner, Vile Parle (W)
This is a desi version of the traditional sandwich with paneer replacing the cheese. The crumbly, soft paneer, veggies and the chutney combine to give you an explosion of flavor in every bite.
