Apart from this, security measures are also being improved for the pilgrimage. The State government had requested for an increase in paramilitary forces for the yatra. “For incident free and secure Amarnath yatra starting from June 28, the state home department has written to the Centre seeking additional deployment of forces,” an official had told news gathering agency UNI. The Centre has agreed to this plea and as a result, 80 additional paramilitary companies will be deployed in Jammu and Kashmir. Of the 80, 35 will be deployed in the Jammu region and 45 in the Kashmir region.
