Vaishno Devi is one of India’s biggest pilgrim spots. Year after year, a large number of tourists visit the Vishno Devi shrine after taking the extremely long and difficult route. Located inside a cave, the shrine is believed to attract close to 8 million pilgrims every year. This makes it the second most visited shrine in the country after Andhra Pradesh’s Tirumala Venkateswara temple. The main sanctum sanctorum of Vaishno Devi is located at an altitude of 5300 ft on the hills of the Trikuta mountain range. Yet, so many pilgrims visit the temple as it is believed to be one of India’s most sacred spots. Apart from its religious significance, Vaishno Devi is also known for its scenic beauty. The view from the top is simply spectacular and the trek to the temple is an enriching experience. However, during winter, Vaishno Devi is covered in snow giving it a different charm altogether. The white blanket makes it looks out of this world and its natural beauty during this time is just unparalleled.
