Located in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur city, Brihadeeswarar temple (also called Brihadeeswara temple) is one of India’s most ancient and revered temples. It is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, built by Raja Raja Chola of the mighty Chola Empire. It is believed to have been constructed between 1003 and 1010 AD. It is part of the Great Living Chola temples which are a UNESCO World Heritage site.
